Regardless of whether she steps out with husband Jack Brooksbank, royalists across the globe scrutinise the young royalโ€™s mid-section, hoping that she is indeed, with child.

While the anticipation for news of another royal baby is certainly at an all-time high, a very important person in the princessโ€™ life has weighed in on the subject, effectively setting the record straight.

Eugenieโ€™s mother, Sarah Ferguson, stepped out at a gathering at American businessman Ernie Boch Jnrโ€™s house over the weekend, revealing that while it would be wonderful, her youngest daughter is not pregnant.

Captured by another guest at the event, Sarah was in charge of giving the toast to the man of the hour โ€“ Boch โ€“ revealing revelling in his philanthropic work.

Speaking about Eugenie, Sarah told the crowd about how her child had overcome scoliosis, and then married Jack โ€œwho sells Tequila for Casamigos which we loveโ€ โ€“ obviously drawing a few chuckles from the group.

โ€œIt makes me even more of a yummy mummy because I just drink the tequila and I donโ€™t sell it,โ€ she mused.

But it was her next anecdote which set the record straight.

โ€œWhat else can I tell you? No, sheโ€™s not pregnant!โ€

โ€œIโ€™m just going through what the journalists say and theyโ€™re all here so I just thought you know, Iโ€™d just fill it in.โ€

While of course this news wasnโ€™t exactly what we wanted to hear, she did drop another little bombshell that has made us very excited.

โ€œYes, I do live in Royal lodge with my handsome prince,โ€ she said, referring to her former husband, Prince Andrew, before adding, โ€œwho is the best looking prince of the whole darn lot.โ€

This is the first time that Sarah has publicly addressed her relationship status with the Duke of York.

While much speculation surrounded if they are indeed back together, she has never confirmed it.

Last week, Princess Eugenie shared a touching tribute on Instagram to her parents for their 33rd wedding anniversary.

โ€œIโ€™m a day late but I wanted to celebrate my parents getting married 33 years agoโ€ฆโ€

The princess concluded the post with: โ€œThank you for always being the best of friends and bringing us up together.โ€

Despite going their separate ways, the couple have remained great friends โ€“ and more recently, have stepped out together to attend public engagements.

In an interview with HELLO!, Sarah revealed that she and her former husband were a โ€œsolid unitโ€.

โ€œA table goes best with four legs. A table canโ€™t stand on three legs, really, so you have the Duke and I, and the two girls,โ€ she told the outlet.

โ€œWeโ€™re a family unit and we lead by example. We support each other emotionally, and we support each other health-wise. At least every two weeks we sit down together and communicate, the four of us.โ€ Speaking about her role as a mum, she added: โ€œI think the one thing Iโ€™ve done incredibly well โ€“ although I say it myself โ€“ is that Iโ€™m a really good mum. And I think that my girls show that.โ€
