When it comes to the royal family, we’re accustomed to professional photographs of well-dressed aristocrats inside palaces, or equally lush venues
But Princess Eugenie, 32, has been known to differ from her fellow blue-bloods with candid, makeup-free pictures of every day life.
This week was no exception, as the daughter of Prince Andrew marked her mother, Sarah ‘Fergie’ Ferguson’s birthday.
Taking to Instagram, the 32-year-old shared a slew of never-before-seen photos of her family as a tribute to Fergie’s milestone.
The images were all taken outdoors and included a bare-faced Eugenie and Fergie beaming at the camera, along with a photo of Eugenie’s husband Jack Brooksbank, as well as her older sister Beatrice.
To top it off, Eugenie included a rare photo of her baby son August being held underneath a tree.
To accompany the sweet family photos, the royal penned: “Half an hour left to go of October 15th 2022 but better late than never.. Happy Birthday my dear mumsy! ❤️❤️❤️😘😘😘 @sarahferguson15.”
The post was quick to garner plenty of support from fans, who commended Eugenie’s candid approach to royal life.
“These are the normal pictures of the royal family that I absolutely love. Thank you for sharing them with us!,” one user wrote.
“My first thought was how normal and refreshing. Thanks for no filters and showing how it really is. Beautiful 💥,” another added.

The birthday tribute comes a few days after Eugenie and Jack celebrated their fourth wedding anniversary.
To mark the occasion, the royal posted a black-and-white throwback picture of them sharing a kiss on their wedding day, penning: “Happy Anniversary my Jack. 4 years and counting.. ❤️❤️😘 📸 @alexbramall.”
Fergie similarly paid tribute to her daughter on her special day.
Sharing a montage of moments from her daughter and son-in-law’s nuptials, Sarah captioned the post: “Happy Anniversary darling Jack and Eugie… Love Romance.”
Eugenie and Jack tied the knot in 2018 at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle, just a few months after the former’s cousin Prince Harry wed Meghan Markle at the same venue.
In a special touch, Eugenie donned a long-sleeve gown with a folded neckline and a low V-shaped back. The latter detail was a special request from the bride herself, as she wanted to honour her scoliosis scar.
“For me, it’s a way of communicating with people who are going through either similar situations with scoliosis or having a scar of their own that they are trying to deal with,” the princess said in an audio guide for the exhibit A Royal Wedding: HRH Princess Eugenie and Mr. Jack Brooksbank at Windsor Castle.
