Rumours have been swirling about Princess Eugenie’s engagement plans to Jack Brooksbank, and now it seems at least part of her reported plan is coming true!
Princess Eugenie is set to move into Ivy Cottage in Kensington Palace, making her neighbours with Prince William, Duchess Catherine, Princess Charlotte and Prince George.
When news of the proposed engagement between the pair broke, speculation mounted that the pair would settle in Kensington Palace together as a couple.
And with news that Eugenie is set to take up residence in the royal palace, the talk of their future union doesn’t seem to be going away, despite Sarah, Duchess of York issuing a denial.
A source close to the family revealed that the princess was in talks to move to the palace.
Though the discussions have yet to be finalized, the source claims “it is likely she will take over the property in the next few months.”
At this stage, Jack is not planning on moving in with the daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson.
The source did say they thought the pair would likely settle down in the future, but not right now.
“What can be said with all certainty is that Jack will not be moving in with her and nor are they planning to get married,” the insider said.
“He is a lovely young man and there is little doubt that they will settle down together some day.”
The source continued: “But Eugenie is only 26 and although Jack is three years older he isn’t at a stage yet where he is able to support her. He will do, one day, just not now.”
Still, the move to Kensington Palace does seem like the first step for a young woman planning on finding somewhere to settle down.
Princess Eugenie currently lives with her sister Princess Beatrice in a four-bedroom apartment in St James’s Palace.
