Princess Diana’s crowning gem to help Prince Harry ring in his royal proposal

Is Captain Wales ready to anchor his ship to Miss Markle?

It's so rare for a (albeit future) royal to share such an intimate look into their life!

New reports straight out of London Town have us strutting to the sound of wedding bells!

According to The Daily Star Prince Harry will follow in his big brother’s footsteps when it comes to popping the question.

Just like Wills used Diana’s stunning sapphire engagement ring to propose to his now wife, the 33-year-old will use a piece of jewellery close to his mother’s heart.

Sources close to the royal claim he has given Crown jeweller, Harry Collins, the Delhi Durbar Emerald Choker, which belonged to his late mother, to re-work into a sparkler for Meghan.

Excuse us while we gather ourselves for a moment over this romantic gesture…

The heirloom piece was originally the Queen Mother’s.

When Diana came to Australia she donned the stunning choker as a tiara in 1985.

The fashion-forward piece will suit Meghan perfectly!

“After Diana died, the boys both chose a keepsake from Kensington Palace when they moved to Charles’ rooms in St James’s Palace,” an insider told the British publication.

“William picked his mum’s Cartier watch, and Harry picked her sapphire and diamond engagement ring.”

“But they had an agreement that whoever got engaged first would have Diana’s ring – and of course that was William and Kate.”

“Harry wants the same sentiment when he proposes to Meghan, so he is working with the jewellers to design something incredible.”

Princess Diana simply adored the necklace. Many astute royal watchers will remember the moment she famously donned the choker as a headband during her visit to Melbourne with Prince Charles back in 1985.

Prince Harry was just 12 when he lost his mother.

He has endavoured to keep her legacy alive in his professional and personal life.

Prince Harry has never shied away from talking about how much he wants to make his mother proud.

Last year, just before he and Meghan started dating he admitted on Good Morning America, “I hope she’s looking down, you know, with tears in her eyes, being incredibly proud of what we’ve established, I suppose. I’m sure she’s longing for me to have kids so she can be a grandmother again.”

With that sentiment in mind, it makes complete sense that the 33-year-old wants Princess Diana involved in one of the biggest moments in his life.

“For Harry, like Wills before him, using his mother’s gems means the two loves of his life will forever be linked,” Harry’s pal explained to the Daily Star.

And the royal insider predicts Harry will go on bended knee on his mum’s birthday, July 1.

The starlet is back in Toronto filming her hit legal drama, Suits.

Harry and Meghan are certainly gangbusters in love.

The pair are fresh from their romantic vacation to Jamaica where they celebrated Harry’s best friend Tom “Skippy” Inskip’s wedding.

“She was a total hit with all of Skippy and Harry’s pals and they cuddled affectionately when out of the camera’s eye.”

“Harry even showed off his limbo techniques and Meghan was very impressed. They are totally relaxed in one another’s company. They goof about and play pranks,” a witness added.

Sadly, it seems like we won’t get to see the pair show off their limbo technique for quite some time.

Pippa and James are planning a “low-key wedding.”

Many royal punters were hoping that Megs would be Harry’s date to Pippa Middleton’s May wedding to James Matthews.

The author may be marrying a billionaire, but Catherine’s little sister is reportedly planning a very low-key affair.

The reception will be at the Middleton’s country manor and in a bid to keep numbers down she is reportedly enforcing a “no ring, no bring” policy, encouraging guests to only bring spouses or fiances.

Pippa had a starring role in the royal wedding.

But if you’re listening to the Daily Mail’s Girl About Town column, Pippa and her royally famous derrière have a few concerns about being upstaged.

“Pippa saw how all eyes were on Meghan rather than Lara last week. The situation was also stressful for Harry. Pippa and her mother Carole wonder whether Meghan’s presence could cause a great deal of unnecessary chaos,” one of her friends said.

Fingers crossed they make an exception for Megs!
