On Thursday, Harper’s Bazaar revealed that the People’s Princess will soon grace the cover of the prestigious magazine for their March issue.

The cover, which was decided upon in collaboration with Kensington Palace, is set to celebrate the palace’s forthcoming Diana: A Fashion Story exhibition.

Opening on February 24, the exhibition will recall a Princess who was known as much for her sartorial risk-taking as she was her royal title.

Taking to Instagram, the publication revealed that the cover will feature a stunning black-and-white portrait of Diana, as captured by iconic French photographer Patrick Demarchelier.

Interestingly, the striking photograph was originally published in the December 1995 issue of Harper’s Bazaar.

The limited-edition cover, which will no doubt be lauded by royal-enthusiasts everywhere, will be available exclusively at Kensington Palace as well as online at the Historic Royal Palaces shop.

But if you’re looking to invest a touch more than the price of a mag in Lady Diana’s legacy, one of her most recognisable pieces of jewellery has just hit the market.

The piece – an iconic diamond and pearl necklace – can be yours for a cool $USD 12.1 million (approx. $AUD 15.7 million). Up until now, the set has been owned by a Ukrainian couple who paid just over $AUD 800,00 for the piece of history in 2010.

The impressive piece was famously dubbed the “Swan Lake set,” after it was worn by Diana to a performance of Swan Lake at London’s Royal Albert Hall in 1997 – just two months before her death.

On the same night, Diana was to meet Mohamed Fayed, father of Dodi, for the first time, who would ultimately die alongside her in the Paris car crash.

Looking stunning as ever, the late Princess attends a performance of Swan Lake, wearing the incredible necklace.

Lady Di poses for a photograph alongside the performance’s ballerinas.

The impressive necklace features 178 diamonds and pearls.

Tragically, Princess Diana was to pass away just two months after this night out.

The gorgeous piece, which consists of 178 diamonds and pearls, will also be sold alongside a pair of matching earrings which were tragically never never worn by the Princess as she passed away before Crown Jeweller Garrard could complete the set.

The dazzling set will be sold by New York auction house Guernsey’s.
