When you’re with an Aussie who’s just won their race at the Monaco Grand Prix, a drink is most definitely in order. And Princess Charlene of Monaco was happy to oblige with a a celebratory glug of champagne on the winner’s podium with Australian Formula One driver Daniel Ricciardo.
Along with her husband, Prince Albert II, Princess Charlene was offered a sip of champagne from the winner and took it upon herself to take a swig from the bottle.
Princess Charlene is no stranger to celebrating big wins, this royal represented her home country of South Africa at the 1998 and 2002 Commonwealth Games as well as the 2000 Sydney Olympics. We have a feeling she downed a few drinks in the Olympic village, because why wouldn’t you?
The Monaco Grand Prix has run since 1929 and the the traditional winners’ celebration takes place on the steps of the royal box.
And even the littlest members of the Monaco royal family were getting in on the action. Princess Charlene posted this adorable photo on her Instagram of her twins Princess Gabriella and Prince Jacques in their own race car.
Formerly Charlene Wittstock, Princess Charlene of Monaco married the heir to the throne and their 2011 wedding was famously surrounded by controversy as there were talks that Charlene was experiencing cold feet and planned to flee Monaco a month before their nuptials.
But with two gorgeous children and all of that in the past, it looks like this royal couple have put their issues in the past.
