The 26-year-old royal and granddaughter of the Queen was working at Sony when hackers gained access to 50,000 staff members’ accounts, stealing emails, medical files and passport details.
The hackers, who reportedly call themselves Guardians of Peace, were reported to be working for the North Korea’s leader Kim Jong-un, but according to The Mirror he has denied any wrongdoing.
The group who obtained personal information about employees has since released the details to American journalists. While some media outlets have printed details about Princess Beatrice and her salary, The Weekly has chosen not to.
Kim Jong-un’s followers were believed to be behind the attack because five films were stolen, including The Interview, starring James Franco and Seth Rogen, which is about two characters assassinating the North Korean leader.
Princess Beatrice started an internship at Sony Pictures Television in London this year.
