Palace insiders know why the Princess and her young family are moving out of London, away from her father.
No one is shocked to hear that Princess Beatrice is escaping London and moving her family into a Cotswolds mansion with two-metre-high walls.
Royal insiders say the 34-year-old mum-of-one has had enough of playing courtier, following red-faced revelations from businessman John Bryan, the man who nearly became her stepfather during his toe-sucking romance with Beatrice’s mum Sarah Ferguson in 1992.
In a recent interview, John spoke for the first time about the hell they went through during Andrew’s infamous BBC Newsnight interview and the moment Beatrice told her father he’d ruined them all.
“He was shouting, ‘I don’t care anymore, I don’t care. I am being treated unfairly,'” John told The Mirror earlier this month. “In the four years I dated Sarah, I never once heard [Andrew] raise his voice or lose his temper.
It showed what strain he was under, how much he cared about the damage this was doing to the royal family. [Beatrice was] hugely distressed and [told her father] ‘You’ve hurt our family.'”
Beatrice’s friends say this was the last straw. They maintain the princess is stressed out, trying to keep everyone together. “Beatrice has always been a people pleaser but John coming forward and shining a light on her family is just too much for her right now.”
