Princess Beatrice has married her fiancee, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in a small private ceremony at Windsor, according to reports.
Multiple UK outlets have claimed the Princess held a small ceremony in private, with an audience including the Queen and her father, Prince Andrew at All Saints Chapel in Windsor.
The Princess was originally due to wed her fiance Edoardo on May 29, however the couple were forced to scrap their plans as the COVID-19 pandemic swept the globe.
Now, it appears the couple instead went ahead with the ceremony within the confines of the current restrictions in place in the UK.
The Mirror claims Beatrice and Edoardo, who is known informally as Edo, had around 20 guests.
Along with the Queen and Prince Andrew, it is likely the guest list included Beatrice’s mother, Sarah Ferguson, her sister, Princess Beatrice and husband Jack Brooksbank.
Edo’s toddler son, Wolfie, was also set to be best man in the original plan, so more than likely he was there to play the very important role at the smaller affair.
Edo, 37 and Beatrice, 31, got engaged in September 2019 after the property developer proposed while they holidayed in Italy.
The pair spoke about their exciting news in a statement, saying: “We are both so excited to be embarking on this life adventure together and can’t wait to actually be married.”
They continued: “We share so many similar interests and values, and we know that this will stand us in great stead for the years ahead, full of love and happiness.”
In December, the couple hosted an engagement party at London’s Chiltern Firehouse in December and while her father skipped the celebrations, her mother Sarah Ferguson was photographed arriving.
Beatrice’s A-list pals were also in attendance, including singer Ellie Goulding, James Blunt and even Duchess Catherine’s younger siblings Pippa and James Middleton, with their respective partners, James Matthews and Alizee Thevenet.
While it’s not yet clear whether such an A-list set was in attendance at Beatrice’s small private wedding this week, we’ll more than likely find out in due course.
Beatrice and Edoardo are believed to have started dating in mid-2018, around the time Princess Eugenie wed her husband Jack Brooksbank.
Things moved quickly between the pair, with multiple reports stating the Princess had introduced him to her parents and wider family within a few months.
The pair attended their first event together at the Third Annual Berggruen Prize Gala in New York in December 2018.
At the time, they were not photographed together.
Lucky for us, just a few months later the pair attended the Portrait Gala event at the National Portrait gallery in London – this time, we got our first look at the couple together.
Edo shares four-year-old son Wolfie with his former fiancée, architect Dara Huang.
Despite breaking off their engagement in 2018, Edo and Dara continue to co-parent their son, with Dara splitting her time between London and Hong Kong due to work.
It’s understood Beatrice has also formed a close connection with Wolfie.
According to a report from PEOPLE, Wolfie is at the centre of both their lives.
“Beatrice has embraced the child as part of her life from the outset,” a source explained.
With this in mind, it looks like the couple are beginning married life surrounded by love – congratulations to the bride and groom!
