Indeed, Charles has been waiting for this day for three-quarters of a century and those around him confirm he is desperate for everything to go off without a hitch.

The King is said to be deploying his sister Anne to deal with his wayward son to help smooth things over following whispers Harry has coronation plans of his own.

Last week, reports emerged that US TV networks CBS and NBC are throwing cash at the prince to be a special guest in their coverage of the coronation, something Charles urgently wants stopped.

โ€œIf the reports are true that the Sussexes are banned from the balcony, on top of the fact that they are still stinging over the way the coronation was planned on Archieโ€™s birthday, Harryโ€™s famous โ€˜red mistโ€™ will be in full flight,โ€ quips a source, who admits thereโ€™s every chance he is considering a media role for the coronation because it could make him millions and itโ€™s also a chance to overshadow his fatherโ€™s entire event.

Given the circumstances, royal sleuths reveal Charles has decided itโ€™s time to dispatch Anne to assist with Harry.

โ€œSheโ€™s exactly the right person to have a good long chat with him, considering sheโ€™s the sort who wonโ€™t be drawn in by his theatrics,โ€ tells an insider, who notes that while Harry, 38, and Anne, 72, donโ€™t often see eye to eye, โ€œsheโ€™s hoping heโ€™ll play niceโ€ out of respect for his friendship with her daughter and son-in-law Zara and Mike Tindall.

โ€œHarryโ€™s impossible to get on the phone, so Charles is asking her to go and see him urgently. He believes Anne is the only one who can talk some sense into him,โ€ shares the source, who confirms Anne is more than happy to be taking charge.

While Harry left it open as to whether he and Meghan in fact plan to attend, Charles, 74, hopes they can be persuaded.
