The future king proved he’s not just a handsome face when he and his colleagues rescued an unconscious tree surgeon after a tree he was working on fell on top of him.
But it turns out, when 37-year-old Jim Schembri came to, he didn’t even recognise the prince!
Will held Jim’s head as he was being treated, and flew him to a local hospital by the East Anglia Air Ambulance, the charity William works for as an air ambulance pilot.
Jim joked about the incident when talking to Good Morning Britain: “It wasn’t until they were actually loading me into the helicopter and I said ‘Willsy better not be flying this thing’ and he turned around and said ‘Oh, I’ve been holding your head for the last thirty minutes’ that it clicked,” he said.
“And then I said, ‘Oh you better come and see me later’.”
Ever the gentleman, William did. He checked up on Jim in the trauma room, where it was discovered he’d suffered a dislocated shoulder and hip. Luckily, he’s now full recovered.
We’re dreaming of the day we can be rescued by the prince…
