Meeting with many families, the Duke of Cambridge used what he knows about parenting to reflect on the issues dads face in various walks of life.

Earlier this year, he and his younger brother Prince Harry teamed up to launch the Heads Together Campaign in a bid to get people talking about unresolved mental health problems.

The Royal met with fathers and their children in a London café for breakfast earlier this week and spoke about the importance of overcoming the struggle of speaking up about feelings.

He was all smiles on the day, and shows what a natural he is with kids.

Speaking for the Heads Together campaign, he said: “Today I celebrate my third Father’s Day as a father. For me it is a day not just to celebrate how fortunate I am for my young family, but to reflect on just how much I’ve learned about fatherhood and the issues facing fathers in all walks of life.”

He continued: “In particular, it is a time to reflect on my responsibility to look after not just the physical health of my two children, but to treat their mental needs as just as important a priority.”

The Duke also said some special things to say about how to spend Father’s Day: “On this Father’s Day, I encourage all fathers to take a moment to ask their children how they are doing. Take the opportunity to discuss how you are coping with life and fatherhood with your wife, partner or with your friends.”
