Prince William and Duchess Catherine have shared a special message for British Prime Minister Boris Johnson as he battles COVID-19 in hospital.
The 55-year-old was admitted to St Thomasโ hospital in London earlier this week, and was later moved to the intensive care unit where he is receiving โstandard oxygen treatmentโ.
Downing Street has confirmed Johnson is in a โstableโ condition as of Wednesday morning, and โin good spiritsโ.
Many members of the Royal Family have sent their best wishes to the UK Prime Minister โ but the Cambridgeโs message has stood out for its very personal sentiment.
Taking to Twitter on Tuesday evening, Kensington Palace shared a personal note from the Duke of Cambridge, who wrote on behalf of himself and Catherine: โOur thoughts are with the Prime Minister and his family, who like so many in the UK and around the world are affected by coronavirus.โ
He ended the message to โwish him a speedy recovery at this difficult time,โ and signed off with one simple letter: โWโ.
It is rare to see a personal message of this nature from Prince William, and it is being seens as a reflection of the extraordinary circumstances the world is currently facing.

(Getty)Buckingham Palace has confirmed that the Queen has also shared a personal message to Boris and his pregnant fiancee Carrie Symonds, saying that they were โin her thoughts and that she wished the Prime Minister a full and speedy recoveryโ.
In addition, Clarence House have also confirmed Prince Charles, who has recently recovered from coronavirus, and his wife, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall sent their best to the British PM and Carrie.

The Prime Minister has suffered symptoms of COVID-19 for 10 days, including a lingering fever, shortness of breath and a dry cough.
It is also understood his fiancee Carrie was also suffering symptoms, although she has not required hospitalisation thus far.
