It’s part and parcel for a new aunt or uncle to be excited about meeting a new niece or nephew for the first time, but for Duchess Catherine and Prince William, it seems their anticipation couldn’t be any higher.
While on an official engagement in London on Tuesday, the pair were caught on camera talking about their brand new nephew, who was born only two days ago, and it was clear they were just as over the moon for his arrival as the baby’s own parents – Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry.

While visiting the Cutty Sark in London, where the pair were launching the King’s Cup Regatta, Duchess Catherine told onlookers that she and Prince William were “looking forward to meeting the new baby and finding out what his name’s going to be” – you and us both, Kate!
She also added in her own sweet piece of advice to the brand new parents, explaining: “These next few weeks are always a bit daunting the first time round so we wish them all the best.”

The Duchess of Cambridge also went on to explain why the timing of Baby Sussex’s birth was perfect: “Obviously with Louis and Charlotte just having had their birthdays it’s such a great time of year to have a baby, spring is in the air.”
And in another adorable moment that’s captured the attention of parents the world over, Prince William also added his own quip, saying: “I’m very pleased and glad to welcome my own brother into the sleep deprivation society that is parenting.”

Indeed the parents-of-three seemed entirely thrilled with the exciting new addition, with William adding that he would have plenty of advice for his brother.
“I wish him all the best and I hope the next few days they can settle down and enjoy having a newborn in their family and the joys that come with that.”
On Tuesday, the pair took to Instagram to share their congratulations with Harry and Meghan, writing: “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted with the news of the birth of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s son today.”

It is expected that royal fans will catch their first glimpse of Baby Sussex within the next day as Meghan and Harry debut their newborn to the world for the first time.
And lucky for us, it’s understood we’ll learn its name at the same time.
According to the bookies, most popular names so far include Alexander, James and Arthur, while Spencer has also been thrown in the mix given its ties with the late Princess Diana’s family.
In addition, it is not yet known what the royal bub’s official royal title will be, but possibilities include Earl of Dumbarton, which was bestowed upon Harry by the Queen ahead of his wedding last year to Meghan.
