The holidays are the perfect opportunity to take stock of things โ€“ and for the royal family, they did this in quite the literal sense.

During their mid-term break in February, Prince William has revealed the surprisingly grounded activity he and Kate took their three children, Prince George, six, Princess Charlotte, four and Prince Louis, one, to see โ€“ and it certainly wasnโ€™t for the faint of heart.

The royals got their hands dirty during the mid-term break.

Speaking to guests at a sporting event over the weekend, the Prince told them that his children had been lending a helping hand at their country residence, Anmer Hall in Norfolk.

But it was a specific activity that caught everyone a little by surprise โ€“ they all went lambing!

According to PA Media, William said: โ€œWeโ€™ve been lambing with the children this week.โ€

He added that while Charlotte wasnโ€™t sure at first, her brothers got right into the thick of things.

โ€œGeorge was straight in there. Louis loves the tractors.โ€

โ€œThey love seeing the lambs and feeding the lambs,โ€ he said.

The Prince also added that the activity wasnโ€™t necessarily easy, lamenting: โ€œDairy farming โ€” you are all seriously tough!โ€

William was attending a rugby match at Cardiff stadium when he shared the sweet anecdote.

He attended as part of his patronage to the Welsh Rugby Union, and joined thousands of fans as they watched Wales play France.

One of the guests attending on behalf of the Welsh Rugby Charitable Trust noted that Wills was โ€œdown to earthโ€.

โ€œHe said theyโ€™ve been lambing this week up in Norfolk. They want the children to see the country way of life as well as the city way of life.โ€

Meanwhile, Wills only had good things to say about the Union itself, and particularly about Welsh captain Alun Wyn Jones.

โ€œThe man is a legend,โ€ he said.
