After a sad couple of weeks in which the Prince and Princess of Wales’ children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, learned of their great-grandmother’s death on their first day at a new school, their parents knew they needed something to look forward to.
So when Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese revealed he’s hoping to host the couple and their kids Down Under next year, it’s no wonder William and Kate jumped at the chance.
“It’s been a year of upheaval for the children, and the family are looking to make some happy memories and take them on a big adventure,” says a palace insider. “William and Kate loved their first tour to Australia in 2014, which was where baby Prince George undertook his first public engagements.”
It has been 8 years since Kate and William first traveled to Australia.

Sources say George, now nine, Charlotte, seven, and Prince Louis, four, are “beside themselves” at the thought of a big family trip.
“They’re obsessed with wildlife and William has told them all about the cool animals in Australia,” says a source.
William is said to be hoping to take his family to some of his granny’s favourite places, where she made a lot of friends. He’s shown them pictures of her sailing into Sydney Harbour in 1963 and visiting Uluru, and has high hopes of taking them to South Australia – a part of the country the Queen adored.
“William is getting them prepared for a great time,” shares the insider, telling Woman’s Day the potential trip – earmarked for April next year – would also involve the couple visiting those affected of the 2020 bushfires and 2022 floods, and would also likely be timed with the Sydney Royal Easter Show.
Royal fans are eager to see when the brothers will unite again.

In his first statement following the Queen’s funeral, Prince William appeared in a video for the Earthshot Prize awards – in which he couldn’t attend due to the funeral – and mentioned a special trip to the United States in December.
The Prince of Wales confirmed Catherine, Princess of Wales will be joining him, but it is yet unclear if their three children will accompany them.
Royal watchers are excited to see if he will reunite with his brother Prince Harry while in the USA.
