Prince William and Prince Harry told to behave at Memphis wedding

Princes William and Harry have been told to be on their best behaviour while attending a three-day wedding extravaganza near the Memphis mansion of Elvis Presley.

The royals are expected to attend the wedding celebrations of London club-owner, Guy Pelly and his hotel heiress fiancée, Lizzy Wilson at a posh polo club near the Graceland estate.

Royal courtiers are reportedly worried there could be too much of a temptation to get into strife for William, 31, and Harry, 29.

Pelly – who organised William’s bucks party before his 2011 marriage to Catherine – is thought of by some royal minders as a magnet for trouble.

In 2002, Pelly was believed to be among the group of friends Harry admitted to smoking cannabis with and two years later the prince’s old chum was also present when a boozy William went for a midnight dip in a moat – a stunt which infuriated royal security.

According to the UK’s Mirror, Pelly initially wanted Prince William to be his best man but that decision was thwarted when it became obvious his involvement would cause the marriage to become a media circus and threaten to overshadow the nuptials.

“If all three senior royals had gone it would have required a huge security detail flying to Memphis with them,” a source told the Mirror after it was revealed that the Duchess of Cambridge would be staying at home with her son George instead of attending the event.

Prince Harry is also going to the event alone since splitting with his girlfriend, Cressida Bonas, 25, over the cost of the airfare to the US.

According to The Telegraph UK, Bonas could not be included in Prince Harry’s royal expenses and has always been required to pay for her own way, but she felt the relationship was on the rocks and was not willing to fork out such a great amount if the pair were headed for a split.

“The widespread opinion that she is a wealthy heiress is complete rubbish, so it was quite a stretch to go to Guy Pelly’s wedding. Guy is not a close friend of hers so there would have been no point in going if she and Harry were splitting up,” a source reportedly told the newspaper.

The source also revealed that money was not the sole reason for the spilt. Bonas was not entirely comfortable with the media scrutiny of her and did not enjoy living in the public eye, the source said.

“The mobile camera phone menace has become a nightmare for her,” revealed the spy.

But some speculate that the pair are simply taking a hiatus – similar to the break taken between Kate and Wills before they got back together and became engaged.

Of course William and Harry have reportedly promised to be on their best behaviour for their US adventure together as neither of them want a repeat of Harry’s 2012 Vegas disaster which caused the royals huge embarrassment.

While the ceremony is due to take place at the Memphis Hunt and Polo club on Saturday, the party is due to kick off on Friday with drinks and possibly a spontaneous visit to nearby Graceland, where Elvis died in 1977.
