Prince William and Kate Middleton seeking nanny for Prince George

Prince William and Kate are reportedly discreetly looking for a new nanny to accompany them on their upcoming Australian tour.

They are a modern couple who planned to be thoroughly modern parents – no formal nannies or ‘second mummies’ taking control of childcare at Kensington Palace.

But before Prince George has celebrated his first birthday it seems blue blood traditions may have prevailed, with Kate and Wills on the hunt for a nanny.

It is reported that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have approached a number of London agencies seeking full-time help to care for the Prince, including Nannies of St James who specialise in childcare for wealthy clients and overseas royalty.

Since last year, the new parents have been assisted on a part-time basis by William’s childhood nanny, 71-year-old Jessie Webb. But Ms Webb has been more of a housekeeper than a nanny, helping with multiple household chores as well as Prince George. Kate and William have been doing much of the hands-on work themselves, with Kate’s mother Carole helping occasionally also.

But evidently the busy lives of a Royal couple have taken their toll and the new parents have revised their previous shunning of a Royal nanny.

It is also said that help is needed to make holidays easier, so it is likely that the new nanny will accompany the family on its trip to Australia in April.
