Now, in news sure to brighten your day/week/year, it’s been revealed, that six years on, your favourite royal couple will engage in a rematch come their upcoming royal tour.

Royal spotters will recall the moment the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge took part in the dragon boat race across the Dalvay Lake in Canada during their first royal tour as a married couple in July 2011.

As it happened, fate was on Williams side, and after bragging about his win to his new wife, the future-king offered up a consolation cuddle.

Though the couple often show a competitive streak, their ‘game on’ mentality is all in good fun.

Fast forward three years, and the parents-of-two went head-to-head once more when they sailed with the America’s Cup crews in New Zealand.

This time, it was Kate who took home the glory, beating out her husband in a race across Auckland harbour.

But it would seem that it’s best out of three for these two, and on July 20, the couple will battle it out in a rowing race on the Necker River in Heidelberg, Germany.

No hard feelings here!

We can’t help but wonder whose side Prince George, three, and Princess Charlotte, two, will take, as it was revealed this week that the couple’s two children will be tagging along for their second royal tour as a family-of-four.

Confirming the news, a Kensignton Palace spokesperson said: “They have decided that their children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, will travel with them and we expect the children to be seen on at least a couple of occasions over the course of the week.”

“They look forward to a busy and impactful tour and are grateful that they will have the opportunity to meet the Polish and German people – such important friends of the United Kingdom – as a family.”

Last month, further details on their itinerary were revealed with the palace confirming The Cambridges will travel to Warsaw, Poland, on Monday, July 17.

During their trip to Poland, they will also visit the city of Gdansk.

After Poland, the family-of-four will travel to Germany, where the duo will go on a tour of Berlin, Heidelberg, and Hamburg.

They will finish up their trip and return back to London on Friday, July 21, just in time for little George’s fourth birthday.
