After his Bond-inspired ride, Harry was greeted by New South Wales Premier Mike Baird but it was a large group of young school children from St Mary’s South Public School sitting on the Opera House steps that the British local made an immediate beeline for.

Ever the charmer, Harry chatted away to the students for several minutes before they summoned their teacher for a happy snap with the royal.

Later, Harry negotiated his way through the heaving crowd to shake hands with fans and pose for photos. Despite the onslaught of attention, marriage proposals and funny signs – one of which trumpeted ‘His Royal Hotness’ – the fifth-in-line to the British throne held his own as he mingled with locals.

His appearance in Sydney today marks then end of his month-long secondment with the Australian Defence Force.

After meeting with members of the public to thank them for the warm reception he’s received over the last four weeks, Prince William’s younger brother is scheduled to then travel to the Macquarie University Clinic in Ryde where he will catch up with Lt Ali Spearing, a Royal Engineers Officer who was seriously wounded and lost both legs during his deployment in Afghanistan in 2011.

No doubt Harry is keen to get home to his native London, where he can finally meet his new niece Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana Of Cambridge.

Following Charlotte’s birth, Harry expressed his delight via a Kensington palace spokesman in a loving message that read: “She is absolutely beautiful, I can’t wait to meet her.”

Harry took the time to speak to each and every individual he met.
