Prince Harry has revealed his confidence suffered a massive hit after his mother, Princess Diana, passed away.
The young Prince said it was his Colour Sergeant at Sandhurst Royal Military Academy that gave him that missing piece of himself back.
The 32-year-old recalled the inspirational figure while speaking at a youth mentoring event at Mackie Academy in Aberdeenshire as part of the festivities for The Diana Award.
The award was set up to honour the late People’s Princess.
Talking to a group of young students, the young Prince revealed how much his sergeant from 2005 contributed to the person he is today.
“I was at a stage in my life when I was probably lacking a bit in guidance,” he explained. “I lost my mum when I was very young and suddenly I was surrounded by a huge number of men in the army.”
He continued: “He was someone who teased me at the right moments and gave me the confidence to look forward, to actually have that confidence in yourself to know who you are and to push forward and try to help others.”
Harry neglected to name the person who helped him so much as “he wouldn’t have wanted me to.”
Harry took time to let loose during his visit, indulging in a spot of tennis, a bit of soccer and even showed off his “dab” dance skills!
The kids’ faces lit up when they realised he know the popular dance move.

The royal also congratulated the recipient of The Diana Award, 17-year-old Jamie McIntosh, for helping others deal with hardship.
Jamie won the award for writing a book on how to cope with grief after the death of his mother Monica from breast cancer.
“That’s what’s it all about, it’s trying to stop other kids in your position having to go through what you had to go through and now your book is going to help everyone around you,” Harry said.
“If anybody around me ever has any grief, especially close family, you feel as though you can help because you’ve got the experience and that’s what mentoring is all about.”
