Everyone’s favourite redheaded royal made a startling confession over the weekend: he’s a bad uncle.

Whilst on a trip to Africa where he is assisting in local wildlife conservation, Harry admitted that missing both the birth and the christening of his new niece, Princess Charlotte, makes him a bad uncle.

“What a bad uncle I am!” Harry told a ‘Save The Rhino’ ranger, “I should really be there. But today I am here, this is where I want to be.”

The 30-year-old has been volunteering in Namibia tracking and protecting lions, elephants and rhinos since June, and before that, was conducting a tour of Australia and New Zealand, which meant he missed not only the birth of his little niece on May 2nd but her christening on July 5th as well.

But something is telling us she’ll probably forgive him.

Speaking to the Sunday Mirror before her birth, handsome Harry admitted that the key to being a good uncle was ‘enjoying’ the role.

“As an uncle, you know, I would say enjoy the role, because at first it’s just pressure, pressure, pressure,” joked Harry.

“Just enjoy it and make the most of it. If you’re going to be doing it and you’re having an effect on so many people then, if you smile, they’re smiling – and what’s the point of doing such a unique job without enjoying it?”
