Prince Harry returned to the UK for the WellChild Awards charity event on September 7, and visited Queen Elizabeth II’s grave the next day on her death Anniversary.
The charity is for seriously ill kids and Harry has been a patron of WellChild for 15 years. He announced his attendance in a statement stating:
“For nearly 20 years, WellChild has been transforming the lives of children and young people, providing critical care that prioritizes the physical, mental and emotional well-being of these individuals and their families.”
“I’m honoured to attend this year’s awards ceremony and celebrate their incredible work.”
Prince Harry hadn’t been back in the UK since King Charles’ coronation and after his comments in his book ‘Spare‘ and on Netflix he didn’t visit any immediate family members.
However, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly took a secret trip to visit his cousin, Princess Eugenie, in Portugal following the Invictus Games.
This would make sense as Eugenie and Jack were the first members of the royal family to meet Meghan when they first started dating and instantly hit it off even going to a Halloween party together.
Although allegedly Prince William and King Charles were opposed to reuniting with their now estranged family member anyway.
A source told the publication that “Charles won’t be seeing Harry and nor will William. No chance,”
“He feels utterly betrayed by what Harry wrote about him in the book and said about him on Netflix.”
