Prince Harry has joined forces with his royal relatives for an upcoming TV appearance despite talk of an ongoing ‘royal rift’.
The Duke of Sussex will appear alongside the likes of Prince Charles and Prince William in a new televised tribute to the late Prince Philip.
The royal family is set to pay tribute to the Duke of Edinburgh in a BBC documentary, Prince Philip: The Royal Family Remembers, set to air in the UK later this month.
According to the BBC, the documentary was originally meant to serve as a tribute for Philip’s 100th birthday which would have fallen on June 10th.
Instead, it has been reimagined as a memorial piece following his sad death in April.
“More than a dozen members of the Royal Family offer their personal thoughts and reflections as they pay an historic tribute to the extraordinary life of His Royal Highness Prince Philip Duke of Edinburgh,” the press release read.
“All the children of the Queen and the Duke, along with their adult grandchildren and other members of the Royal Family, have agreed to take part in this unique portrait of the longest-serving consort in royal history.”
What’s more, the documentary will reportedly show unseen footage from inside Philip’s study, private office and library, with the documentary-makers also being given access to the Queen’s private home movie collection.
Since stepping back as a senior royal and jetting off to California, Prince Harry’s relationship with his family has been the subject of much speculation.
He returned to the UK for the first time in over a year followin Philip’s death, when he reunited with his family to attend the Duke’s funeral.
Just two months ago, the Duke of Sussex reunited with the royals again for the unveiling of a statue in homour of what would have been Princess Diana’s 60th birthday.
Both events saw Princes William and Harry put on a united front, despite the heavily reported “battle of the brothers”.
Now their joint involvement in this TV tribute suggests they are ready to continue to work on their relationship in public and private.
Royal author Omid Scobie recently claimed that Harry and wife Meghan Markle are excited to start a new chapter following the birth of their daughter, Lilibet.
“They’re a couple who do very well in those moments of human interaction. They need to be on the ground,” he told People.
“They say that the proof is in the pudding, and what we are about to see is that pudding.”
Scobie went on to say that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are in a “much healthier” place since their royal exit in March 2020.
