Prince Harry is already planning his next visit to New York, following his and Meghan Markle’s whirlwind trip to the Big Apple over the weekend.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex flew into New York City last Thursday and attended a series of events and engagements over the following days.

Now the pair have returned to their home in California, but it won’t be long before the duke is back in Manhattan.

It has been announced that Harry will appear at the inaugural Intrepid Valour Awards on Veteran’s Day in the US, which falls on November 10.

The event is set to be hosted at the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum along the Hudson River, where Harry will attend the Salute to Freedom gala.

There, he will give out awards to service members, veterans and military families who bear the “invisible wounds of war”.

Having served in the UK armed forces for years and done two tours of Afghanistan, Harry holds his military ties close to his heart.

He was reportedly heartbroken when he was stripped of several honourary military titles after stepping down from his role as a senior royal in 2020.

Now Harry appears to be embracing the opportunity to be involved in military events in the US, like the Salute to Freedom Gala.

One of the people set to receive an award at the gala is none other than Jon Bon Jovi, whom the duke has worked with before on a song for the Invictus Games.

The games are an Olympic-style event Harry established for wounded servicemen and women, the first games held in London in 2014.

It’s understood that the Duke of Sussex will be attending the Intrepid Valour Awards solo in November, with wife Meghan remaining at home in California with their two children.

Their recent trip to New York together sparked praise and controversy in equal measure.

During their visit, Harry and Meghan attended meetings with New York’s mayor, members of the UN and more, as well as appearing at Global Citizen’s Vax Live festival.

Fans of the couple cheered them on for taking a stand on issues such as climate change and the COVID-19 pandemic during their visit to the city.

However, critics questioned why the couple – who quit the royal family in 2020 in search of a more private life – would make such a high-profile trip to New York.
