Two years may not seem like a long time, but a lot can happen in 24 months.

And two people who are well aware of that are Prince Harry, 35, and Duchess Meghan, 38.

In 2017, Prince Harry officially transitioned from party prince to devoted husband-to-be when he announced that he and American actress Meghan Markle were to be engaged.

Two years on, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have chosen to honour that anniversary with three stunningly candid photos, one of which was taken on their wedding day, that royal fans were yet to feast their eyes on.

Can you believe it’s been two years since the royal engagement was announced?

“On this day, two years ago: 27th of November 2017, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced the news of their engagement, later becoming Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex!” the caption read.

“They have since celebrated their wedding anniversary and welcomed their son, Archie, into the world.”

And while we loved seeing the first photo from the couple’s official engagement photo call, we were ecstatic to see a previously unseen photograph captured shortly after Harry and Meghan became husband and wife.

In the black and white portrait taken by the couple’s official wedding photographer Chris Allerton, the couple have their arms around one another in a candid moment.

Duchess Meghan, who wore a stunning Clare Waight Keller dress with Queen Mary’s diamond bandeau tiara, had removed her veil by this point and can be seen mid-laugh, while Prince Harry grins in his frockcoat uniform of the Blues and Royals.

The final photo in the trio of memories was taken when the couple introduced their newborn son Archie to the world in May at Windsor Castle.

This isn’t the first time Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan have shared an unseen photo by any means.

For their first wedding anniversary, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex shared a heartwarming slideshow of images from behind the scenes of their special day.

These included one of Prince Harry and his older brother Prince William heading to the service and a sweet snap of Duchess Meghan holding hands with her proud mum, Doria Ragland.

Following their official engagement photo call and interview with the BBC, Prince Harry and the then-Meghan Markle were photographed by renowned shutterbug Alexi Lubomirski – and their love was plain to see.

“It was one of the easiest, most joyful jobs because they were so deliciously in love,” he said, adding that he told the couple to “just be yourselves and I will take pictures of you.”

“It was an incredible honour to be asked to document this wonderful event, but also a great privilege to be invited to share and be witness to this young couple’s love for one another. I cannot help but smile when I look at the photos that we took of them, such was their happiness together.”
