Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry have shared words of praise and encouragement for young people in London who have been giving their time to help during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Earlier in June, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex penned a letter to the StreetGames charity, which has helped to coordinate young volunteers distributing food to those in need amid the health crisis alongside Meghanโ€™s beloved patronage, the Hubb Community Kitchen.

While the pair are currently holed up in their new home Los Angeles, theyโ€™ve still kept their ties close to the UK โ€“ and the letter is case in point.

In the heartfelt letter, Harry and Meghan wrote that they wished to express their โ€œheartfelt thanksโ€ to the team at StreetGames.

โ€œTo know that North Paddington Youth Club, Solidarity Sports and St Matthews Project distributed hundreds of freshly prepared meals across their networks of young people over the last few months is fantastic.โ€

The pair continued: โ€œThe impact of Covid-19 has been a scary and testing time for so many people from all walks of life, all over the world, however, it is difficult times like these that goodwill to others and community spirit prevails.โ€

The letter is signed off with a simple, โ€œHarry & Meghanโ€ at the end, and is headed with the pairโ€™s emblem they created with their former royal foundation, Sussex Royal.

The charity itself was clearly thrilled to receive the letter.

Sharing a copy of it on Twitter, the charity wrote: โ€œWow! Thank you so much Harry and Meghan for your kind words and your continued support for StreetGames and the brilliant local organisations working to support their communities in these challenging times.โ€

A number of their followers shared and Tweeted responses themselves, with one writing: โ€œAbsolutely touched by the good work you all did.โ€

Another added: โ€œCongrats on the amazing work in helping the Hubb Community Kitchen deliver meals for the disadvantaged communities. This letter was a wonderful gesture of kindness from Harry & Meghan.โ€

The pair have been keeping busy doing their bit to help amidst the pandemic.

Over Easter, the couple were spotted out in Los Angeles delivering food parcels to those who needed it.

Throughout lockdown, theyโ€™ve also kept busy by speaking regularly to their patronages back home, and at times, allowing them to spotlight their involvement with the royals with videos and images shared to their respective social media accounts.

Harry and Meghan have partaken in several video calls with charities back in the UK, and in the US.

Harry himself is also a supporter of the StreetGames charity.

Back in May, he joined in a video chat with some of the young volunteers who had helped the charity during the pandemic.

In the clip pulled from the video call, Harry tells them: โ€œThank you so much for being you, and for being so kind and compassionate and caring to others.โ€
