Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan have made a surprise appearance by dropping into an unsuspecting Zoom call – as you do.
The Duke and Duchess popped into the Zoom call to honour Black History Month, with the call consisting of a literary group, Get Lit, who were discussing poetry as a way to empower youth and embolden communities.
Sharing the unexpected appearance from the Duke and Duchess on Instagram, one of the baffled participants wrote via the Get Lit page: “Guess who surprised our poetry class this weekend?! It was the best weekend EVER! Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, were magic and kind and interested in poetry!”
“The Duchess even shared some of her favorite poetry lines. We are so grateful for their visit in [honour] of Black History Month. It goes down as most epic experience in Get Lit history!!!”
This marks the first ‘public’ appearance from the Duke and Duchess in months.
We last got a glimpse of the pair late last year as they partook in other calls for various social causes. We also got a semi-glimpse of them in their annual Christmas card photo, which depicted the royals and their young son Archie in a cartoonised image in their backyard.
In the screenshot posted to Get Lit’s Instagram page, it’s possible to make out Harry and Meghan’s Zoom screen name – a very simple, yet apt “DoS”.
This likely stands for Duchess of Sussex, Meghan’s official royal title.
The use of the former title shows the pair are still holding strong to their royal roots as they continue to live and work in the US throughout the COVID-19 lockdown.
It’s expected we’ll see plenty more from the Duke and Duchess over the coming months as they continue to expand the work of their new foundation, Archewell.
Along with the odd guest appearance in Zoom calls, these two have been super busy creating podcasts (via a partnership with Spotify) and videos (via a partnership with Netflix).
The world really is their oyster.
