And while he’s no doubt in the midst of a happy newborn baby bubble with wife Duchess Meghan and their two-year-old son Archie, the 36-year-old took a quick break to announce some very exciting news.

As we all know, Prince Harry’s Invictus Games have been a staple on royal calendars for seven years – though last year, the event was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

But not to worry, because those games will be going ahead in early 2022 at The Hague, in the Netherlands.

As for the next? Well royal fans will blissfully not have to wait long between next years postponed games and its proceeding Invictus event – Prince Harry has announced it will be held in September 2023 in Dusseldorf, Germany.

The games are a celebration of those who currently serve and who have served in armed forces.

With Prince Harry himself serving time in the Army when he was younger, he formed an incredibly close bond with some of the servicemen and women.

Doing his bit for them and utilising his influential profile, he created the Invictus Games as a multi-sport event for wounded, injured or sick armed services personal, as well as veterans.

Harry’s love for the games is clear – and in October 2018, Harry and Meghan travelled to Australia where they held that year’s Invictus Games in Sydney.

Speaking previously of the tournament Down Under in a speech, Harry said: “As Australians know better than anyone, sport has an unparalleled ability to bring people together… sport can change and in some cases, save lives.”

The Duke and Duchess will no doubt be thrilled to see the Invictus Games back up and running from next year.

At present, Harry is back into his paternity leave as he and Meghan settle into their new life as parents to two.

They currently reside in a stunning mansion in Santa Barbara, California, where they will continue to raise their two kids.

And who knows, perhaps the next Invictus Games will feature two very special young guests – Archie and Lilibet will no doubt love to see the festivities.
