Prince Harry might be busy on new-dad-duties, but he’s still making time for a special group of people close to his heart.
In a stunning display of both admiration and animation, the comedic Duke of Sussex stepped out with the biggest smile on his face as he attended the annual Founders Day Parade alongside several war veterans, which was held on the 75th anniversary of D-Day.
But it wasn’t only the beautifully chipper moments he shared with guests that had us transfixed – no, it was the beautiful words he said during the event that also had us reaching for the tissues.
At the event, Harry shared an emotional speech which spoke wonders of the veterans in attendance at the event – some of whom were invovled in the Normandy Landings marked on D-Day.
“I stand here before you to not only acknowledge the incredible contribution you have made to this nation but to acknowledge that you, my friends, are also seriously good fun to be around!” Prince Harry said.
He continued: “You will always stand out in your scarlet coats and white gloves, but to me, whether I see you at Westminster Abbey, the Chelsea Flower Show, Twickenham Stadium, or the pub, I notice that you are always smiling.”
What a beautiful way the Prince phrased his admiration!

“That is an important part of your legacy.”

Captured on camera, the Prince is seen laughing with a pensioner who had been told he had to change out of his socks which featured the phrase ‘world’s greatest grandad’ in light of the royal’s visit!

Indeed even in his formal speech Prince Harry couldn’t help but share a cheeky joke, explaining that King Charles II and Sir Christopher Wren would be “amused to hear about the late night cricket in the hallways!”.
He then comically added: “Much less the serenading by Colin, who I am told is Royal Variety standard, but let’s assume they haven’t seen your synchronised buggy drill quite yet!”
Prince Harry wasn’t the only royal to step out for the D-Day commemorations on Thursday.
Prince William also joined more than 20 veterans at a service in Staffordshire.
Sharing his own stirring speech, the Prince said: “Now, once more, a supreme test has to be faced. This time the challenge is not to fight to survive but to fight to win the final victory for the good cause.”
He added: “At this historic moment surely not one of us is too busy, too young, or too old to play a part in a nationwide, perchance a worldwide vigil of prayer as the great crusade sets forth.”
Prince William was also out in force for the poignant day.

Charles spoke to the BBC about the veterans attending the poignant events, explaining: “They always remember their comrades and their friends and the people they had to leave behind. This country lost countless special people and we owe it to them and their families to go on commemorating this.”
