Even from another country, Prince Harry is still finding ways to keep us on our toes as he navigates his new life outside of the royal family – and his latest escapade into the public eye is case in point.

The British royal, who recently relocated to Los Angeles with his wife Meghan and son Archie, has largely stayed under the radar for the most part, as the Sussex family settle into their new chapter.

But some things never change for the Prince, and he’s proved exactly why with a very unexpected television appearance.

On Monday evening, the Prince made a surprise appearance on BBC’s The One Show, where he showed his support for war veterans – something that is very close to his heart.

Harry spoke exclusively to people who have been involved in the CASEVAC Club, which is for women and men who have been seriously wounded in combat.

The 35-year-old took part in a Zoom call to speak with Maggie Wilson, who is a widow of a former war veteran, and Andy Perry who is the son of a veteran.

Harry greeted them all, saying: “The One Show got in touch to ask if I could shine a light on a group of veterans that lots of people might not know about.”

Harry was in his natural element during the call, and always one for a bit of cheeky humour, he snuck in a few jokes as well.

Asking Maggie about her late husband, he asked: “When you met him, can I ask, did he have good lips for kissing?”

Hilariously, the host of the show, Alex Jones, later suggested Harry could make a good reporter in the future if he kept that up!

The video message was released at the same time as the Invictus Games were scheduled to kick off in the Netherlands.

Unfortunately, the special event, which was founded by Harry for retired and injured servicemen and servicewomen, was called off due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

It is hoped that the event will instead take place in 2021.

This isn’t the first time the Prince has made a sneaky appearance on camera this month.

Well, it was an almost appearance last week when the Duke and Duchess Meghan shared a brand new video with their baby son Archie, who was celebrating his first birthday.

The special clip was filmed as part of the #SaveWithStories campaign via Save the Children, with Meghan seen reading Archie the popular children’s book Duck! Rabbit!, whilst Harry filmed his wife and child.

At various points during the sweet clip, it’s possible to hear Harry snigger, and give his son words of encouragement.

Over the next few months, it will no doubt be interesting to watch how Harry and Meghan continue to navigate their new lives in Los Angeles after stepping back as senior royal family members.

Of course, it’s very possible to expect that we’ll be seeing plenty more charitable initiatives and campaigns that will work towards a greater good.

The name of their new foundation, Archewell, which is derived from the phrase “to take action”, is certainly a good start.
