Ever since news of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s engagement was confirmed, the world has been in a frenzy. Fans of the royal couple are eagerly awaiting details of the engagement, wedding, and yes, honeymoon.
Even though we’ll all have to wait until May 2018 for the couple to tie the knot, that doesn’t mean we aren’t curious to know where they’re planning to travel as a newly-married couple.
According to People, there’s good reason to believe that the royal couple will travel to the US during their honeymoon. Harry and Meghan are known for their passion for philanthropy and one cause might bring them across the pond.
Harry is a longtime supporter of Walking with the Wounded. The charity is responsible for organizing veterans as they recover from their injuries and wounds. The group also sponsors Walk of America, a three-month-long hike that takes place from May to July in 2018. This means that they might fly to the States after they are married to support the vets.
And if they did chose to spend their honeymoon there then they would be following in the footsteps of Kate Middleton and Prince William. Prince Harry’s older brother and sister-in-law visited North America soon after their April 2011 wedding.
“I knew she was the one from the very first day,” Harry recently said of his wife-to-be.
The newly-engaged duo have been together for just over a year.
We can’t wait for these two to tie the knot! From what they revealed about the proposal, their wedding is bound to be romantic.
“It happened a few weeks ago, earlier this month, here at our [Kensington Palace] cottage; just a standard typical night for us. Roasting a chicken… trying to roast a chicken,” Harry said of his proposal.
“She didn’t even let me finish, she said, ‘Can I say yes, can I say yes?’ and then there was hugs and I had the ring in my finger and I was like, ‘Can I give you the ring?’ She goes, ‘Oh yes the ring!’ It was a really nice moment, it was just the two of us and I think managed to catch — catch her by surprise as well.”
Meghan added, “Yes, it was just a cozy night… I could barely let you finish proposing.”
