Yesterday, while most of the tour entourage were dazzled by Uluru in this unique part of Australia, Kate enjoyed a candid conversation all about her son George with a group of students at an afternoon tea party in the Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre.
A few of the girls wanted to know about George, including Shannon Hunt, 17, who bonded well with the new royal mum. โWe asked if they missed him,โ Shannon said afterwards. โKate said that sheโd love to have him here [in the Red Centre] with her.โ The Duchess reportedly told them: โHeโs been changing so much while weโve been awayโ.
She also explained with a wry smile that the chubby babe, who Prince William has amusingly described as โa bit of a bruiserโ, has grown an โextra fat rollโ while theyโve been away.
And while George is happy and excitable on terra firma, Kate said: โHe can get a bit grumpy on the long flightsโ. The third in line to the throne has two more to go. One short hop from Canberra to Sydney and then the more gruelling journey back to the UK.
