He may be the third in line to the British throne, but Prince George is just like any other six year old.

A talented soccer player and in his third year of school, the young prince is also popular among classmates at Thomasโ€™ Battersea in London.

And just like other children across the globe, Prince George is known to have play dates โ€“ but with the slight exception of his taking place at Kensington Palace.

While his friends, who mostly have โ€œno royal blood at allโ€ are invited to the coveted halls of his home, there are strict rules and strategic planning that must take place before the games can begin.

A royal insider told The Sun that โ€œKate and William are delighted that George is getting on so well at school and that heโ€™s made friends and just like any normal child, he has invited a few of his mates on play dates.โ€

However, weโ€™re quite certain not many other children live like the Cambridges!

โ€œIt is wonderful for themโ€”and their parentsโ€”to go to such a beautiful and historic palace and have the run of the place,โ€ a royal insider told The Sun.

โ€œBut it does involve a bit more planning than a normal play date, as everyone visiting the palace has to be security vetted.โ€

Thereโ€™s already a special โ€œvetting systemโ€ for members of the royal staff, which involves involvement from British Intelligence services, however, the actual security measures for outside visitors has not been revealed to the public.

We last caught a glimpse of the young prince as he was fulfilling his big brotherly duties, accompanying sister Princess Charlotte on her first day of school.

To celebrate the milestone moment for the four-year-old royal, Duchess Catherine and Prince William shared the sweetest photo of the two children before they embarked on the school year.

In the image, both children are seen standing with their arms around each other and smiling proudly.

Both dressed in the prestigious London schoolโ€™s smart navy and red uniform, we are frankly besotted with this new glimpse of the royal children โ€“ theyโ€™re growing up far too quickly!

The caption explained: โ€œThe photo was taken shortly before Their Royal Highnesses left for Thomasโ€™s Battersea.โ€
