The #GreatKateWait is finally over, and it looks like Prince Charles was on the money! Kate gave birth to a healthy baby girl at 8.34am on May the 2nd, much to the delight of royal fans (and the Prince of Wales).
According to the bookies, the odds were in favour of a girl 13-8, with Alice and Charlotte the favourite names, and those who placed their money on a Princess are set to be rewarded.
Speaking to veterans and their families after the Queen presented new colours to the 1st Battalion Welsh Guards at Windsor Castle this week he said “It’s wonderful to be a grandfather again. I’m looking forward to it – but I hope it will be a girl this time.”
Kensington Palace announced the Princess of Cambridge’s arrival on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, as well as with a town crier.
She travelled by car from Kensington Palace to the Lindo Wing at St Mary’s Hospital with Prince William.
