For 50 years, Prince Charles has served as the Prince of Wales and today two gorgeous new portraits have been released by the Palace to celebrate the momentous occasion.
The 71-year-old was given the title of Prince of Wales by his mother Queen Elizabeth when he was just nine years old, in July 1958.
Later on, at the age of 20, he was formally invested with the title by the Queen, 11 years later on July 1, 1969.
To mark the occasion, Clarence House has released two official portraits, one of Charles and one with his wife Duchess Camilla, and they are absolutely gorgeous.
Renowned royal photographer Chris Jackson, who has photographed all members of the royal family numerous times, took the intimate photos and perfectly captured the essence of the couple.

“The photo was taken at Llwynywermod, The Prince and The Duchess’s home in Wales.”

He has and does make a huge contribution to positive change for the future for many people, especially giving young people self respect, skills and boosting their self esteem,” one fan wrote.
While another said: “What a great picture! Just perfect.”

The images were published at the end of Wales Week, a week-long series of celebrations across Wales.
Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla have been on a five-day tour of the country and have attended more than 20 engagements throughout the week, spending time visiting charities and businesses supported by the royals.
