Meghan Markle might be royal but with the title comes a flurry of unwanted criticism.
And today, royal fans (this one included!) are aghast as a so-called friend of Prince Charles’ has taken it upon himself to hit out at the Duchess of Sussex.

In a scathing interview with the Daily Mail, Prince Charles’ old Etonian school chum Nicky Haslam has cruelly mocked everything from Meghan’s wedding dress, to her social status, and her ailing father Thomas Markle.
Opening up about Meghan’s family, the interior designer sniped: “They’re frightfully common.”

The 78-year-old, who was also friends with Princess Diana and once sang for The Queen, lashed out at Thomas Markle and said his last-minute absence was a blessing in disguise.
“It would have been awful if that huge lump had been there,” he said.
Adding: “The royals probably don’t quite know how to deal with them.”
“One person who wasn’t common was her mother,” he remarked of Doria Ragland.
Nicky has slammed Meghan Markle’s family as “frightfully common.”
Not done with digging in the boot, Nicky also took a nasty dig at Meghan Markle’s wedding dress by Clare Waight Keller for Givenchy.
“I didn’t very much like her dress. It didn’t fit, among other things,” he claimed.
“It should have been made of thinner stuff, it seemed to be made of concrete.”
Judging by how close Prince Charles has become with his new daughter-in-law, we dare say Nicky will not be invited to anymore royal family functions in the future after this awful attack.
