The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Coronwall have celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary with a unique surprise for fans.
As they remain in lockdown in their Balmoral residence amid the coronavirus pandemic, the pair will be celebrating the day rather differently this year, though they’ve proved it’ll be just as special with a single, stunning image.
Sharing a photo to their official Instagram account, Clarence House, the Prince and Duchess are seen sitting on their porch steps with wide smiles on their faces as they hold the two family dogs, Beth and Bluebell.
Indeed we can’t quite decide who looks happier – the blissfully married royals or the adorable Jack Russell terriers.
We’ll settle on both, and then sit here admiring this gorgeous new picture for the foreseeable future.
In the caption of the picture, Clarence House wrote: “Ahead of The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall’s 15th wedding anniversary tomorrow, we are sharing this photo of Their Royal Highnesses with The Duchess’s dogs Bluebell and Beth”.
The Palace finished: “The photo was taken earlier today at Birkhall”.
If you were wondering why the photo is particularly special, you aren’t without reason.
Personal images like these are rarely shared by the royal family (but for very special occasions), and it’s particularly rare to see images shared on the same day they are taken.
With this in mind, it’s reassuring to see the pair looking so content as they remain in the lockdown currently being enforced across the country.
In addition, it’s great to see Prince Charles looking so sprightly – it was only last week that he was given the all-clear by doctors after he tested positive to COVID-19.
Speaking of his experience, the Prince told followers in a video posted to Instagram that he had “relatively mild symptoms”.
“I now find myself on the other side of the illness but still in no less a state of social distance and general isolation,” he explained.

Luckily, Charles was able to come out of self-isolation in time to celebrate his wedding anniversary with wife Camilla – and it certainly looks as though they’re marking it with style.
Fans alike were thrilled to see the celebratory post on Instagram, with hundreds quickly flocking to the comments section to share their well wishes.
“Happy Anniversary! And many more happy years to you!,” one wrote.
“Happy Anniversary, the best of health and all the happiness to you both,” another said.
We couldn’t put it better ourselves – our best wishes to the two royal sweethearts!
