The Royal family’s eldest Princess, Princess Beatrice of York, is just two days shy of her 27th birthday and it seems her dad, Prince Andrew, is already in the mood to celebrate.

The social media savvy Prince, 55, took to Twitter this morning to post a cute throwback pic of himself, his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, and a tiny Beatrice at only two weeks old.

The sweet black and white snap shows the happy family in 1988 cradling their newborn Princess and looking pretty blissful – and not to mention rocking some seriously Eighties hair.

He captioned it, “#TBT Two week old @yorkiebea in 1988. HRH will celebrate her 27th Birthday on Saturday #HappyBirthdayHRH”.

Prince Andrew even posted it on “Throwback Thursday” – now that’s what you call new age royalty.

The tech-savvy 55-year-old recently celebrated his younger daughter’s birthday via Skype!

But this tweet certainly isn’t Prince Andrew’s first display of his social media prowess.

The Prince recently used his tech skills to celebrate another of his daughter’s birthday – via Skype!

Videoing in from the Palace, Andrew set up a correspondence to his daughter, Princess Eugenie, who was celebrating her 25th in New York, where she was staying with her mother and sister.

“We are going to do something new this evening,” said the Prince on the day, “The lady in the middle is my youngest daughter and it’s her 25th birthday today.”

Leading the some 400 attendees at the Palace in a rousing rendition of “Happy Birthday”, Prince Andrew got right into it, singing and clapping along.

And luckily enough, Eugenie was touched by the performance. She even briefly teared up at Andrew’s touching performance, prompting big sis Beatrice to warn her: “Don’t cry”.

Whilst Sarah preferred to quip, “We all think you need to go to choir practice”!

With a display like that, Prince Andrew proved that no dad – not even a royal one – is too cool to embarrass their kids.
