His Royal Highness has been in Queensland to confirm a royal will be present at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, which will be held on the Gold Coast next year.

One lucky local, 25-year-old Taleah Kneebone, got to chat to the Prince.

“He was so human, I can’t stop smiling every time I think about it, it was actually one of the highlights of my life,” she told the Gold Coast Bulletin.

“He told us that when royals go to the games, it’s the volunteers who are the ‘cream on top’ that really make or break the event.”

“He said we’ll have some very important people coming through next year and that we will be greeting some members of his family at the Commonwealth Games.”

The Duke of York then went south to NSW, heading to the University of Wollongong for his Pitch at Palace program.

Pitch at Palace gives entrepreneurs the opportunity to meet the people who can help make their business dreams become a reality.

Launched in 2014, Prince Andrew’s royal initiative guides, helps and connects entrepreneurs and early-stage businesses with potential supporters, including CEOs, influencers, mentors and business partners.

“I have to say that I have been really, really impressed with what I have seen,” he said as he addressed the masses.

“It is a great pleasure to bring those entrepreneurs here to Wollongong University today where we will give them as much encouragement as we can.”

Meanwhile, the Lord Mayor of Wollongong, Gordon Bradbery, showcased the trademark “Gong” humour, telling the Queen’s son, “No disrespect intended, but Andy welcome to the city of Wollongong, have a great time mate and give our regards to your mum!”

On Wednesday, the Prince dropped by the St Vincent’s Curran Foundation.

To anyone out and about in Sydney on Thursday, Prince Andrew is scheduled to visit a ship in the Royal Australian Navy before hosting the grand final of Pitch@Palace at Government House later tonight.
