Over the weekend Prince Albert and his wife Princess Charlene threw the most epic of celebrations to commemorate the 57-year-old’s ten year anniversary on the throne.
The festivities kicked off at the Palace Square in Monaco with Princess Charlene, 37, delivering her first ever public speech to thousands of adoring fans and family – including the couples’ seven-month-old twins Gabriella and Jacques, who were watching on in their nannies’ arms from the Palace balcony.
Albert stepped up to the throne in April, 2005, after his father ainier III, Prince of Monaco passed away. The Zimbabwe-born beauty explained in French of Albert’s family history: “[Prince] Albert I was the Explorer, Rainier III was the Prince-Builder, and you are the Prince of Hearts, of my heart.”
And the touching words were so powerful they moved the usually stoic Prince to tears before the couple shared a warm embrace and loving kiss.
On Sunday it was a more casual affair as they partied the night away to a live gig from British singer Robbie Williams.
