Speaking to Matt Lauer on America’s Today Show, the 30-year-old sister of the Duchess of Cambridge said the attention she received after the royal wedding was a shock.
“It was completely unexpected. You know, I think the plan was not really for it to be a significant dress. Really just to sort of blend in with the train,” she told Lauer.
“I suppose it’s flattering but a little embarrassing, definitely. It wasn’t planned. It was supposed to be insignificant.”

The former journalist was thrust into the spotlight because of her royal sibling and had one of the most talked about bottoms in the world.
She revealed that although she was presented with some “amazing opportunities”, fame had a negative side.
“I think people feel they can say something about you online or on a web page when they would never say it to your face but they think that’s okay. It’s been difficult,” she said in the interview.
