The famous sister of the Duchess of Cambridge took the opportunity to speak out about her upcoming nuptials to her hedge fund manager fiancé.

“I couldn’t be happier!” Pippa beamed as she stepped out in a bridal-inspired white dress and flashed her incredible sparkler in London on Tuesday.

And her happiness certainly showed; the 32-year-old couldn’t keep the smile off her face – perhaps her new accessory had something to do with it?

Up close! Pippa’s engagement ring is fit for a princess.

The stunning creation was an exclusive vintage-inspired design that featured a halo of glittering diamonds around one central stone.

And even though the little sister of Duchess Catherine may not be royalty herself, her ring certainly was; the gorgeous central diamond was a princess cut!

Confirming the happy news, Pippa and James released a statement to the Press Association saying, “Miss Pippa Middleton and Mr. James Matthews are delighted to announce they became engaged on Sunday 17th July and plan to marry next year.”

Pippa went to great lengths to hide her hand at a charity event the day before she officially announced the news.

But onlookers noted the bride-to-be, pictured with Princess Eugenie, couldn’t seem to stop smiling.

A Kensington Palace spokesperson for Duchess Catherine and Prince William echoed the sentiment: “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are absolutely delighted with the news.”

Meanwhile, 34-year-old Catherine reportedly didn’t know about her sister’s impending happy news.

According to Us Weekly, Kate had no idea her baby sister Pippa was about to get engaged.

The proposal was “totally unexpected. She had no idea they were getting engaged so soon,” a source told the publication. Nevertheless, the mother of two was thrilled for her sister when it happened.

Just days before, Pippa and her new fiance were enjoying the sights of Wimbledon.

While Duchess Catherine is thrilled for her younger sibling, a new report claims the future Queen of England may not be in Pippa’s bridal party in a bid to try and keep the focus on the bride.

“Kate would upstage her sister [if she were bridesmaid],” seasoned royal expert Judy Wade explained to People. “It’s a tricky situation for Pippa. She would want her sister by her side, as who else would she trust to make things go well?”

“But if your sister is a future Queen, she is going to upstage the bride and draw attention. Kate would want to be in the background as much as possible.”

Experts are also predicting Pippa’s beloved nephew and niece, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, may have roles to play on the big day.

It wouldn’t be the first time a royal has played page boy. In 1986, Prince William was the page boy at Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson’s wedding at Westminster Abbey in London.
