The Duchess of Cambridge’s younger sister, who is undoubtedly best known for the role she, or rather her pert derrière, played in Kate’s royal wedding, will soon tie the knot with fiancé James Matthews – the brother of reality TV star Spencer Matthews.
And as anyone who’s ever planned a wedding can attest, the guest list is perhaps the trickiest component to nail down… but it seems Pippa Middleton has found a tactic that works, the infamous ‘no ring, no bring!’ approach.
The 33-year-old has reportedly banned Spencer’s girlfriend Vogue Williams from her big day – an Irish model, television and radio personality who appeared on Australia’s very own Dancing with the Stars when she was still married to singer-songwriter Brian McFadden.
“Pippa’s view is that Vogue’s relationship with Spencer is still very new. It wouldn’t be appropriate for her to be there after just a few months of dating,” a wedding insider explained to The Sun.
“But some people in the circle are pretty shocked because this is her future brother-in-law who’s going to end up attending on his own. It’s certainly raised eyebrows.”
The source added: “It’s clear Pippa doesn’t want to be outshone by any TV babes on her big day.”
This might spell bad news for everyone’s favourite “TV babe”: Meghan Markle.
The Suits actress – as you already know – has been romantically linked to Prince Harry since late last year, but there isn’t yet a ring to speak of (although, by all reports, plans for a royal engagement are well and truly underway).
We certainly hope there’s an exception made for the princess-in-waiting!
The wedding, set for May 20th at St Marks’s Church in Englefield, will be an intimate 150 guest affair with the reception expected to be held on the grounds of the Middleton Family’s Bucklebury home.
“There’s been a lot of speculation that Pippa would get married at her fiancé’s hunting lodge in Scotland or have a massive bash in London. But she’s a traditional girl and just wanted to get married at home,” a source told The Sun.
“Her mum has been very involved in all the wedding planning and she wants to show off their house to all their friends,” the insider goes on.
“Plus, how can you compete with Kate, who got married at Westminster Abbey and Buckingham Palace? This way, Pippa can keep it private and very personal.”
While it is still uncertain whether Duchess Kate will play the role of maid of honour, her two children Prince George, three, and Princess Charlotte, 22-months, are expected to take part as page boy and flower girl.
We can’t wait to see photos from the beautiful day. All the very best with the final preparations, Pippa!
