He may be admired and loved the world over for his good looks, but it seems that even Princes need to watch their weight!
In a cheeky display whilst on a recent engagement with wife, Catherine, to mark World Mental Health Day, the Prince revealed that he may be watching his waistline with a new diet.
Walking past a table laden with sweets, cakes and treats at the college, Prince William reportedly politely refused when offered one by one of the students.
“I’m not allowed cakes,” William laughed.
“Also it is very difficult to talk to people when I am eating cakes. I would cover all your tops with chocolate. It’s not very good,” continued the Prince.
Perhaps Will and Kate are trying out a new couples’ diet!
The Duke and Duchess were in Harrow College in North-West London to discuss mental health with locals in support of charity Mind, as well as the anti-stigma campaign ‘Time To Change’.
The royals were on hand to talk to young people who have been struggling with mental health and hear their stories.
Talking to an 18-year-old volunteer about her struggle with bipolar disorder, Prince William remarked that communication was an important part of normalising mental health discussions.
“I know it’s not easy for you re-living your experiences again and again,” the Prince said.
“If we can get more young people talking, and coming through with their experiences, then we can really get mental health to the fore, which is where it should be and what we need to do,” he told the volunteer.
And his wife definitely seemed to agree with him.
“I keep thinking about what else we can do and how we can raise awareness. Keep the ideas coming. Talking about mental health is so important,” said the Duchess.
A volunteer at the event spoke to People, revealing that the Cambridge couple was really “down to earth”.
“Before they walked in it was really nerve wracking but as soon as they were sitting down it felt completely normal,” Claudia Denington said, “I kept doing a double take! But they really put everyone at ease. They genuinely wanted to hear about our personal experiences.”
For the event, the Duchess, who was still sporting her new bangs, wore a black and white Tory Burch dress she wore previously on 2013’s New Zealand tour, whilst her husband looked smart in beige slacks and a light blue shirt.
