Her Majesty was opening a new gallery about communication communications revolutions at the Science Museum in London on Friday morning.
“It is a pleasure to open the Information Age exhibition today at the @ScienceMuseum and I hope people will enjoy visiting. Elizabeth R,” wrote The Queen on a tablet on a podium.
Her tweet received more than 6,000 retweets in the first hour.
The royal’s Twitter account was set up in 2009 to provide “updates, pictures and videos from Buckingham Palace about the work and activities of The Royal Family and the institution of Monarchy”. It currently has 850,000 followers.
