The royal wedding has come and gone, and the new Duchess of Sussex seems to have settled into her role nicely. But the one thing we can’t stop thinking about from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s nuptials — aside from Meghan’s wedding dress and veil — is the adorable page boy, Brian Mulroney, whose ear-to-ear grin brought lighthearted cheer to Meghan’s nerve-wracking walk down the aisle.
Ben Mulroney, the youngster’s father, recently revealed what caused his son’s joy and the reason is just so cute.
“I asked him, and he said he’d never heard a trumpet before,” Ben said of his seven-year-old son during a recent segment of the Canadian TV show Your Morning. “I think when he walked in [the chapel], he saw all the people there, and the flowers, none of that was there during the rehearsal.”

“There had been so much talk about getting it right with the rehearsals and these kids are so young,” Ben — whose wife is Meghan’s best friend Jessica Mulroney — continued. “There was a lot of worry that this wouldn’t get done right, but they’re having so much fun with it. And that, to me, was the thing that gave me the most pride — that we didn’t put so much pressure on them that this wasn’t joyful for them. It was pretty darn joyful.”
Brian’s twin brother, John Mulroney, also held Meghan’s train at her wedding, while their four-year-old sister, Ivy Mulroney, was a bridesmaid.
All the members of Meghan’s bridal party were children, so we’re totally impressed by how well-behaved the kids were. Of course, Prince George and Princess Charlotte’s nanny, Maria Borrallo, was on hand to bribe the kids with sweets. And as a sign of how mature he’s become, little George reportedly did his best to comfort one of the younger girls who had started crying.
Brian, John, Ivy, and all the other kids probably had the time of their lives at Meghan and Harry’s wedding, and we certainly enjoyed watching them all!
