Meghan Markle, who has been dating Prince Harry since late last year, announced Friday that her lifestyle blog, The Tig, will no longer operate.
The news has royal watchers abuzz with the idea that the 35-year-old may join the British Royal Family sooner than expected – after all, we’re not too sure the Queen would be overly impressed with the overshare nature of a blog.
The Suits actress confirmed the closure on the website’s homepage, as well as on Instagram.
“After close to three beautiful years on this adventure with you, it’s time to say goodbye to The Tig,” she wrote.
“What began as a passion project (my little engine that could) evolved into an amazing community of inspiration, support, fun and frivolity. You’ve made my days brighter and filled this experience with so much joy. Keep finding those Tig moments of discovery, keep laughing and taking risks, and keep being ‘the change you wish to see in the world.’”
She added: “Above all, don’t ever forget your worth – as I’ve told you time and time again: you, my sweet friend, you are enough. Thank you for everything.”
The site, which was launched in 2014 with the aim of sharing various aspects of Meghan’s life, cites Tignanello red wine as inspiration for the title.
“Tignanello is a full-bodied red wine that I tried about seven years ago,” she said. “In wine circles, it is nicknamed ‘Tig.’ It was my first moment of getting it — I finally understood what people meant by the body, structure, finish, legs of wine. The TIG is my nickname for me getting it. Not just wine, but everything,” Meghan explained to Tory Daily.
The website was designed to be a place in which Meghan could share sources of inspiration as well as select details of her personal life.
Of course, the sudden closure of Meghan’s successful website isn’t the only indication that a royal engagement is on the horizon!
New reports suggest that the brunette-beauty may be set for a transatlantic move, with fresh chatter claiming Harry wants his girlfriend to live in his new apartment at Kensington Palace asap.
The Sunday Express reveal that Harry is hoping to make Princess Diana’s former apartment his permanent residence.
Harry and Meghan went public with their relationship back in September.
“Harry sees his future at Kensington Palace but he can’t live in Nottingham Cottage forever. It’s not what you would call a family home,” a source told the UK paper.
According to the Daily Mail, Harry plans to leave his Nottingham Cottage base and Meghan will move from Toronto to the newly renovated royal residence.
“[Harry] keeps popping round and asking when it will be ready,” an insider revealed to the publication.
“He seems in a real hurry to move in with Meghan,” they added.
