Although Meghan Markle and Princess Margaret – sister to Queen Elizabeth II – never met after she passed away in early 2002, the pair have an unlikely connection.
It is no secret the Duchess of Sussex’s first passion was acting as she shot to fame with the television drama series Suits.
Princess Margaret died in February 2002.

The Queen and Princess Margaret often resided at Windsor Castle during the second World War. Around Christmas every year, the sisters would perform in a pantomime to raise funds for charities that supported the armed forces.

It was during these performances where Princess Margaret “shone” according to local papers.
According to the Princesses’ governess Marian Crawford otherwise known as ‘Crawfie’ reported in her book The Little Princesses from 1950 that Margaret had a “considerable talent” for performing.

However, Meghan Markle had an opportunity to explore her acting career before taking on royal duties, Princess Margaret did not. Her royal responsibilities ultimately meant that she could not explore her talents future.
It is unlikely that Meghan Markle will return to on-screen drama, but she has been staying in the spotlight recently with the release of her Spotify podcast Archetypes and an upcoming Netflix documentary series.
Former reports revealed that the couple were being forced to go to extraordinary length’s to keep their Netflix bosses happy after failing to produce TV-worthy content.
Sources said Meghan and Prince Harry were considering renewing their vows in the United States.
Meanwhile a more recent passion project by Meghan Markle and Prince Harry was announced with the couple partnering with The Ving Project to provide $1 million in grants to support young women.
“In honor of Archetypes, we’re partnering with VING Project, a national giving movement, to donate $1,000,000 in $1,000 grants to women who need to be uplifted,” it wrote on The Archewell Foundation website.
“I’m very proud of this partnership and the good we hope to see come from it.”
