Meghan Markle and Prince Harry just welcomed their first child, an adorable little boy, and the parents-to-be are now well and truly settled into their brand-new family home.

The $5.45 million renovations at their new Frogmore Cottage home in Windsor are now complete, with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex going above and beyond to get their baby’s nursery ready in time.

According to Vanity Fair‘s royal reporter Katie Nicholl, the couple opted for a gender-free, modern nursery for their little prince.

“According to sources who are helping with [their new home] renovations, the nursery itself is going to be very modern. Don’t expect to see any baby pink or baby blue,” Nicholl revealed during an interview on Entertainment Tonight.

“Apparently, it’s going to be a monochrome palette — whites and greys, I’m told, will be the colour theme for baby Sussex’s nursery,” the royal correspondent added.

It’s believed the gender-neutral palette was yet another indication that the couple chose not to find out the sex of their baby and instead waited for a surprise on the special day.

The Duchess is also a proud feminist so it wouldn’t be surprising if she didn’t want to project gender stereotypes on her first-born – and all the power to her we say!

The Sun reports environmentally-conscious Meghan, who likes to stick to a vegan diet during the week, wants to make sure no animals are harmed in the process so she is using odourless, non-toxic, vegan paint for her baby’s room.

“Meghan has been looking long and hard at paints for the Sussex nursery,” an insider tells the outlet.

“Rather than opt for fashionable Farrow and Ball paint in favoured shades such as Wevet, Peignoir and Pavilion Grey and Salmon, the Sussexes are much in favour of The Organic & Natural Paint Co’s Auro range for the nursery.”

The eco paint is packed with immune-boosting properties including eucalyptus and rosemary oils.

Overseeing the production of the baby’s nursery is designer to the stars Vicky Charles, who has decked out the interiors at Soho Farmhouse where Meghan threw her hens party last year.

The 37-year-old is also putting in childproof windows and a $90,791 eco boiler.

While overseeing million-dollar renovations while being heavily-pregnant would be stressful for some, insiders say Meghan took it all in her stride.

“She has told friends that this is the most exciting [time], the happiest period in her life. I’m told that she is upbeat and that she is happy,” Nicholl said.
